Hello everybody, I'm looking to find, catch and keep a trap-jaw ant queen this year. I would like some info on where will it be best to find one. I live in Malaysia, specifically in Damansara Jaya. Would I find a queen here?
As for species, I'm lookin for an O. similimus

Young ant keeper with a decent amount of knowledge on local ant species.
YouTube: https://m.youtube.co...uKsahGliSH7EqOQ (It's pretty dead. Might upload again soon, don't expect my voice to sound the same though.)
Currently kept ant species, favorites have a star in front of their names (NOT in alphabetical order, also may be outdated sometimes): ★ Camponotus irritans inferior, ★ Ooceraea biroi, Pheidole parva, ★ Nylanderia sp., ★ Paraparatrechina tapinomoides, Platythyrea sp., Anochetus sp., Colobopsis sp. (cylindrica group), ★ Crematogaster ferrarii, Polyrhachis (Myrma) cf. pruinosa, Polyrhachis (Cyrtomyrma) laevissima, Tapinoma sp. (formerly Zatapinoma)
Death count: Probably over a hundred individual queens and colonies by now. I cannot recall whatsoever.

I'm not sure that there are many people that can help you with those specific locations, and that you may just have to know that they live in your region and you may need to search for them yourself. good luck, as Odontomachus are my favorites!!!
Ants I am keeping:
none for now, planning on being more active this year

I can't suggest exact places but trap jaws are in general moisture lovers.
So try searching in damp and wet places.
Hi y"all,
PM me for any help with ants.
