I got this colony a little while ago and they had 1 queen and 1 worker when they arrived which they’re still at that size, they do however have 4 eggs and 2 larvae. The larvae almost constantly eat and grow pretty quick so i should have some more workers in about 2-4 weeks. I’ve been feeding them a steady diet of 4 fruit flies a day and 1 mealworm chunk which the queen and worker love. This species of Odontomachus has a mostly black body with a red head and a tiny bit of red on the legs.

Ikr, I found them fishing for minnows next to a pheidole bicarinata super colony.

Ikr, I found them fishing for minnows next to a pheidole bicarinata super colony.

 

that's amazing! You told me on discord, you found them on the most northern part of wisconsin correct?

Yeah, they were on the very tip of Wisconsin.

Yeah, they were on the very tip of Wisconsin.

 

Near the great lakes? fishing for fish?. that's amazing. Did you see them harvesting trees/ice by any chance? and plowing snow?

Yeah, they were on the very tip of Wisconsin.

Yeah they used their jaws to break the ice and move snow.

nah, they are common near the great lakes.
