Ants I am keeping:
none for now, planning on being more active this year
Heat Mat/Cable with box.
I have my heating cable hooked up to a thermostat so I can make sure my ants don't get cooked in the summer. I also turned down the heat on my thermostat for the winter. My ants don't hibernate but it still gets colder in the winter. Thermostats aren't necessary but the like ANTdrew said, at the least you'd need a heating cable which are about $15.
Veromessor pergandei
Veromessor andrei
Crematogaster sp.

Go to the ant, you sluggard; consider its ways and be wise! It has no commander, no overseer or ruler, yet it stores its provisions in summer and gathers its food at harvest. -Proverbs 6: 6-8
