I definitely need this. I update most of my journals between midnight and 4am, so a dark mode would be a lifesaver for my eyes.

Dark modes are notoriously hard to develop for actually -- given that Drew said that removing the gender option is actually more complicated than it seems, this seems like probably a very far off ask

In the meantime, I find this particular extension for Chrome to be quite useful

So in long term dark mode is better for eyes: https://www.nngroup....cles/dark-mode/

I recommend using night mode to reduce blue light. Of course not recommended while processing photos or videos ;)

I must say, this would be nice.  I have my phone on darkmode 24/7 and I love it.  While it would be nice, it's not really a necessity.  It's not going to make or break me being on FC.  Lol   :)

Since this is a vision topic and not making a useless thread....plus forums in hibernation mode so not very active to begin with...

My eyes are ant trained eyes. Literally.

my vision sucks, like I can take off my glasses, and you can be a foot away from me and your face is just a complete blur. My vision for distance is even worse.

yet even without glasses, I can see a tiny queen ant far away (or close) and that queen ant will look perfectly clear.

that's the single only thing I can see (without my glasses) is ants, not just queens but tiny teeny workers (like Solenopsis molesta) too lol.

Weird right.

The extension mmcguffi posted works great, not only for this page but for any other non-dark themed page.

I would upgrade the forum software before this would happen. Creating a new theme is a LOT of work for a perfectionist like me. For someone who doesn't really care about details, can probably just download a theme and use it along with all of its mistakes and just leave all the pages (like chat and other things) that don't match the theme. That's not my style.

When I do upgrade the forum software, which will happen eventually, I'm going to go with a dark theme.

Nice, I look forward to the update in 10 years :)

(its a jest/semi joke, not exactly at you...but...when sites are run especially by small teams or solo...updates take a very long time than they themselves probably even plan :P
