I already have many founding nests for these, but my ultimate plan will change the world! its basically just two phalanx with two sides connected to each other which allows around 200-300 ants I think to live in it. I plan on connecting more as time goes on because these are water tower gals so what do you guys think?
Also i've been getting mixed messages, do they need hibernation or not ?

We don’t talk about that

But how are you getting these ants in Virginia?

You are not able to keep Novomessor in Virginia unless you have a permit to have them

I’m buying them from someone I know. But I won’t reveal info yet because I don’t know if they want to be publicized.

So, the vauge way you are dispensing the information sort of makes it sound like your buying them illegally. But I know its not my buisness nor my place to ask you how you are obtaining them. I am not a police officer either, so its not my quarral on all parts. Anyways, I think that setup sounds good, and I believe they do not hibernate as they are desert ants. Two Phalanxes may be a little big for them but I have never owned one so I can't give input on that.

This is true, you have to have a permit as well. Again, not my fight, just noting it.

This is true, this 'somebody you know' would need to have a permit, and I believe you have to have a permit as well. Again, not my fight, just noting it.

The buyer needs a permit the seller does not but will need a copy.

If they know the outcomes and the seller does too then if they get fined then let them learn their lesson.

Even if I didn’t it’s not your place to say what I should do. I don’t feel like doing this today.

please do not take this judgmentally, but it makes things really not sound good when you don't reveal if you have a permit. all you would need to do is say you have a permit, and it would be legal. all i are trying to do is keep antkeeping as lawful and enjoyable as i can, so we can continue our hobby in peace. not to mention try to get prenolepis imparis legal to ship faster. again, i am not trying to be judgemental or busting into your privacy, but as your antkeeping friend, please don't do anything illegal.

The phalanx? Glad to hear ants Dakota is still working hard. I forgot to say, I resign from nest making. Sorry because of the virus and moving I cannot make them anymore.

that design sounds good :) just curious, how large do novomessor colonies get?

also, if kitsantsva is getting them illegally, they know the risks and they know they’ll get fined or whatever if caught. let them do whatever they want, in the end its their problem :P
