hello
I'm just curious how many ant colonies everyone has
i have 3
I have three, hoping though four. I just caught some Brachymyrmex queens a few nights ago. Also, are they polygonous. Been wanting to ask but haven't gotten to it.

Oooo great. I had one test tube left so I shoved them in there and put them in my closet.
14 ant colonies at the moment.

12 at the moment. Not all different species.
Hi there! I went on a 6 month or so hiatus, in part due, and in part cause of the death of my colonies.
However, I went back to the Sierras, and restarted my collection, which is now as follows:
Aphaenogaster uinta, Camponotus vicinus, Camponotus modoc, Formica cf. aserva, Formica cf. micropthalma, Formica cf. manni, Formica subpolita, Formica cf. subaenescens, Lasius americanus, Manica invidia, Pogonomyrmex salinus, Pogonomyrmex sp. 1, Solenopsis validiuscula, & Solenopsis sp. 3 (new Sierra variant).
12 at the moment. Not all different species.
same with mine.

I have 17 currently
I have somewhere between 50 and 60. I don't have a whole lot atm because I kinda neglected some of my other ants (Pheidole bicarinata, Solenopsis invicta, Colobopsis impressa, Colobopsis obliqua), but 2021 is going to be my best year to date, I guarantee it.

5 Currently, hopefully one of my honeypot queens will pull through and have nanitics.
3 with workers and a lot of founding queens.
At the time I am writing this, I currently have 6 colonies, all doing well.
The most I've had at once so far was around 150-160, but through selling and whatnot I'm currently sitting at 65, of which around 50 or so are unique species.

It's not all that hard. Only around a dozen require daily feeding, and the rest I feed on a rotation, so I only need to actively care for around 20-25 colonies per day, and even then that only takes maybe half an hour at most.

Yeah that's what I do during the main anting season where i can have anywhere from 150-200 colonies at a time.

ooh just curious, which ants need feeding every day?
I bet they are either fast growing species or just large colonies.
