This is tuture. I'm so jealous. I hope your colony does amazing so I can at least enjoy them from afar.

yesss i agree. i’ve always wanted to keep this species, but i literally just can’t afford them lmao
I hope you guys get a colony each. So far they are so cooky. I might be setting up a shop in the following months and if the rains are in my favor I might be selling some so who knows.
Acromyrmex won't fly this year. All flights have been dismissed since it didn't rain.

I have recently aquired a 3 queen colony of A. versicolor and they have big fungus gardens. I will update this once or twice a week or if something big happens.

Here are some photos prior to me getting them:

I can't wait to see another chonker

I was looking at the fungus gardens and was comparing it to the original photos and saw a huge growth but when I looked closer I noticed that it was a massive pile of brood! You can see it in the last photo I posted.

I am now weirded out by these ants. They don't mind light (they might even like it).

Most ants won't mind light.  I've never kept ants that were skittish to it, they mostly freaked out from the vibrations of moving them.

So they were getting so large and I have plans to split the colony in three for a breeding project I attached an older model of DSPdrews nest to the original nest.
