I am some-what new to ant keeping. Started around late August 2018, my colonies back then never made it more than 4 months under my care. The year after is when I was actually keeping long-term colonies. Raised a colony of myrmica latifrons that lasted 8 months with me, (died from a tapinoma sessile invasion) and a brachymyrmex deplis colony that lasted a bit longer, being 9 months (escaped from their setup at the time). My colonies now are doing exceptionally well, I currently own 5 colonies; Camponotus noveborecensis (two of them), Formica podzolica, lasius neoniger, lasius apidcola, and finally camponotus Modoc. I am hoping next years summer will gift me some amazing ant queens.
