Is it just me or is the vinyl tubing disconnected in the second picture? (look to the left)
Super cool update though. I'd estimate 55-60k workers?
And escapees running out!
So i'm not crazy!?

yeah, I fixed the tubing issue after someone on Discord pointed it out.
I use fluon for a barrier.
I pinged you after I saw the tubing was disconnected, and Arman told me he already told you.

"Describe keeping Atta in one image"
I'm looking into improving their setup once again, to possibly include outworld(s) that have a lid to apply an upside-down barrier on, because as it stands I have to replace the fluon in certain areas every 2-3 days to prevent major breakouts.
In good news, the lid of the super tall container has finally been reached!
The 3 newest chambers are also all getting pretty full, and I'm likely going to end up adding 3 more sometime relatively soon.
Are you just gonna keep adding chambers or will you someday make some mega setup for them?
Damn man, pretty soon you're gonna need a loft bed with the entire bottom bunk being Atta. It'll be like having roommates!
Slight suggestion, put some kind of large, delicious potted plant right outside their outworld so if they escape, they'll likely escape right into the potted plant. Could make it WAY easier to find them and put them back where they go.
I did this for my discolor, who escape on the regular and they are SO easy to find now, attempting to make small burrows in the potted plant. Just a thought.
Otherwise, this is easily my favorite journal to see updated.

Oh boy. This is a BIG update.
What happens when you run out of room... and for real this time. I have absolutely no desk space left.
I planned to add 3 new nesting chambers, and did end up going through with it. Let's go over that.
There was one additional problem, you may have noticed the electrical tape on the latest 3 chambers' tubing. This is because I accidentally drilled the holes too large for my tubing, and so had to artificially widen the tubing. Well, they chewed through it, and the smaller workers were able to squeeze right through and forage all over my desk. What I had to do was widen the holes even more to fit my largest size of tubing.
So my plan was to remove the middle of the 3 nest chambers, drill out the holes larger, and then replace that chamber with a new one. Then, attach the used chamber in the middle of two new chambers.
So how did it go? Painfully. It was painful.
Surprisingly drilling the holes resulted in almost no dead ants. However, trying to squeeze new tubing into the holes while there was thousands of extremely angry workers rushing out was... less than fun. Anyways here's the chamber swap!
Having the middle chamber detached was almost surreal. I was able to just... grab it, and carry it around. Freakin' weird, man.
Now... where in the heck to put it? Like I said, I have NO room left on my desk AT ALL.
Shelf on the wall? Shelf on the wall.
And an absurdly loooooooong tube going there.
For them to bring leaves from their outworld, across the rope bridge, and all the way to their new shelf is around a 17 foot long journey. Which is kinda crazy. And they still do it!
They're just barely starting to seed new fungus in the new chambers, but they're certainly going to get there eventually.
How do you water the plaster in the Pioneerplastics boxes or is it just humidified from other chambers?

The chambers no longer need to be watered. The colony gets all of their moisture from the leaves they collect. This is normal for large Atta colonies.
What if you like, trip and fall on the nest
