I think she’s full of eggs, I notice that a lot of queens that have tend to have a small first batch itch a lot then end up producing a pile once the first few workers arrive

that is what a lot of queens do.

Sad news- The queen never layed anymore eggs and died about a week ago which means this is the end of this journal


Currently keeping:

Myrmecia pilosula (Queen only, 4 larvae)

 

Anonychromyrma Nitidiceps (30-50 workers)

 

Rhytidoponera Metalica (Queen x2, Larvae and eggs)

ahh. the queen was probably a dud. it happens to all of us. i do feel bad, as this is a cool species.

Feel so bad for you, I've ended up with duds multiple times but none hit as close to home as myrmicia. They suck but everyone loves them, sorry.
