This is just a random journal for all of my inverts!

 

List of currently kept inverts-

- 2x Madagascar hissing cockroaches 

(this is just a photo of their setup, they never come out except to eat, and even then they grab it with their legs and take it underground  )

- A ton of adult scarlet and bumble millipedes that I am hoping to breed

- Some assorted other cockroach nymphs that were ordered from bugsincyberspace.com some time ago (includes domino roaches both normal variant and the orange spotted ones)

- 9 hawk moth pupae that are soon to hatch 

 

- 1 dark fishing spider 

 

Arriving soon-

Some Theba pisana snails (from Jellyfish16)

Some June beetle grubs (also from Jellyfish16)

And some isopods (from BeerBandit)

I saw some baby bumblebee millipedes in their setup!  They are really small, but ill try to get pics

found these little things in the milllipede bin, maybe springtails? I took some out and put them into a deli cup to culture anyways

2 hornworm pupa have turned completely black, but they are still moving. when i pick them up the casing feels kinda flimsy... idk if they r dying

1st moth hatched!!!! will get pics of it asap. its probocis is not curling up though, and its wing look like they got ripped... hopefully he will be alright

the moth still has shriveled wings, and seems very weak.

So his wings have not expanded at all, and his proboscis is still stretched out, even when he is just sitting on the ground. He was on a paper towel, so I picked that up and held it above a cup of honey-water, and he put his proboscis in it and (hopefully ) drank some!

It seems as though the wings are not wet, but they are still really small...

i hope they expand over the course of the day.

ok so everyone this is larry. larry’s wings grew. larry is bootiful, but he still can’t fly because his wings r crumpled,

Aww, hi Larry. Sorry about your wings. I've noticed with feeder bugs that many have malformed wings and bodies and so on... inbreeding? Bad conditions? Missing nutrients? Dunno why.

Just noticed this post and wanted to get in on the action. Anyway I used to have a few Furcula scolopendrina moths. I loved having them, anyhow hi Larry.

Larry was not eating, so I grabbed a syringe and filled it with honey water, unfurled Larry’s proboscis with a feather, and stuck it in the syringe. The rate at which the honey water disappeared was absurd! he drank it really fast

The second moth should hatch soon, hopefully he will have a proper proboscis and wings
