Queen 7mm
Workers 2.5mm
Virginia United States
In a 10mm test tube.
Around 15 workers and tons of larvae and eggs.

not good enough pics, unfortunately. c. cerasi or c. lineolata are physically identical except for some small hairs.

Hopefully this is lineolata but they are very small, smaller than the other crematogaster on my yard so I’m thinking they are lineolata.

You'll need a microscope and a prayer to ID these, unfortunately.

You know I said it was just according to AntWiki that their colonies only get to like 200 workers, right? That could be completely wrong. So even if they are lineolata you could end up with thousands of workers.

 

Edit: Also they are smaller because they prob don't have full sized workers yet.

that's fine ill probably either get a fortress and a mini labyrinth for christmas or two mini labyrinths and i can move them into those.

Crematogaster nanitics (first generation of workers) are much smaller than mature generations so size is not a good indicator.

I know the workers are but I'm talking about the queen she's different from others i've seen.
