I have a Formica Podzolica colony, and it has one worker, nothing else. it has not been boosted. i'm not sure what to do, since this has never happened before. usually the nanitics come in a batch of 3-9 ants.
What should i do?

Queens I keep:
Camponotus sp.
Formica sp.
Unknown queen ant sp.
1 parasitic Formica queen!
i would say that is kinda normal just put them in hibernation and they will grow some next year, there's not much you can do except boost her, she probably ate almost all the larvae just to feed one and she also probably ate all her eggs.
i concur. although you were right, the nanitics usually come in group of 2-4.
Go to the ant, you sluggard; consider its ways and be wise! It has no commander, no overseer or ruler, yet it stores its provisions in summer and gathers its food at harvest. -Proverbs 6: 6-8

mine formica literally got 7 workers with no food the entire time so best thing to do is find a nest and get some pupae or ask a ant keeper with a large colony for some.
yeah that's what i'm gonna do there's a nest at a tree stump and tommorow there's people coming over to dig it up so hopefully there's going to be lots of brood and pupa.
i do think its too early for hibernation tho

i have a formica montana colony with 1 worker, and i would try to hibernate it in a fridge at a higher temp than usual, to be safe. because, if that 1 worker dies, the queen might not survive.

I have a formica queen that only has one nanitic too. I think I am going to hibernate her soon, and then hope she is "boosted" and ready to lay more eggs next year. She got the nanitic a couple weeks ago, and I haven't seen any new brood, so...

She'll have more energy.
Oh ok she probably will be energized with all that sleep time, i might go out in a forest near me and try to get some pupae while a formica colony is raiding one.
