DISCLAIMER: These "sp.#" identifications do not correspond to dspdrew's.
I love Crematogaster spp., but trying to identify them is a pain. I will eventually get to it, but not right now, haha.
This queen was pretty funny for me to find. This was the same trip where dspdrew and I caught all those Myrmecocystus spp. and we had just stopped at a place called Andrew's Wash.
He really wanted his picture with "his wash," so I took it. Then I walked up to show him, when for no reason at all, I decided to pull out the solar-powered light stuck in the middle of all that dead grass at the top of the pole. Magically this C. sp.3 queen comes out with it and that was probably the least amount of effort I put into finding a queen that trip. You may be able to see her first nanitic tucked under her with all her brood. She has more nanitics on the way shortly.
Here is a possibly better picture of the nanitic.
