Just a sort of "throw away" idea I had. 

 

Basically, I think a subforum for on-topic scientific articles (Maybe localized within the "general" section?)  would make it easier to disseminate new research/developments in myrmecology to forum members, as well as make it easier to find their threads later.  The current system with people posting in the "general" or "off-topic" subforums works well already, but I believe that this one could be an improvement.  

 

Identification keys and good resources for other aspects of ant physiology could also go here.

 

I don't know how much use it would get, but it would nonetheless be nice to have a clear and defined place for scientific information on the forum.

Is it? I’ve taken “general antkeeping” to do specifically with antkeeping—not necessarily the wider world of myrmecology as a whole. Ant taxonomy, for instance, falls outside that scope. It’s related, sure, but not “ant keeping.”
