Oh, yeah. Nothin’ too special. Just a desk top colony showing the very pinnacle of ant development and genius.

Guess what? He's finally decided to start caring about his Acromyrmex; and you won't believe the results!

Recently their petri dish nest started to get almost completely full, so I decided to hook it up to a Formisquarium XL and appropriate outworld. To my surprise they started growing new fungus in the new nest almost immediately. I know I designed those nests with Acromyrmex specifically in mind, but still it was a big surprise to see how eager they were to occupy the new space.

They've also been eating more recently, likely to support the new fungal growths. I even got them to accept some new leaves, the same type my Atta like.

I'm also going to stop watering the old petri dish in hopes for them to completely move out of it. For now that doesn't seem like a priority for them, but I'm hoping to get them moved fully into the new nest. So far all 6 queens and all the brood still has not been moved, but I don't think that'll last too long with how fast the new fungus has been growing.

Well if I ever find these in Cali, I will probably be using a Formisquarium

The old nest has been completely vacated and the fungus is growing extremely well in the new nest. I did end up stealing probably 20% of their fungus to boost my new queens this year and to sell, but even with that setback they're still growing very nicely.

Is the colony still going strong? Did the journal end?

Wow, it’s been 1 year to this day since the last update. I’m curious to see how this colony is doing as well.
