Queen arrived in a test tube with about a dozen workers. Got them to move into a Tar Heel ants founding formicarium. I didn’t realise how small they would be. Put honey, water, and a mealworm in there. Figured they’d be good to go until I went and bought some almonds or something. Within a day or two I think all but one worker has died. Not idea why.

Did you just receive the THA formicarium? If it was freshly made, there is a chance it was not fully cured. Released fumes could be the culprit.

Keep ordinary ants in extraordinary ways.
