I've gathered all of mine from dandelions or plants near the wild P. occidentalis nests. So far my ants love them.

Ants I have:
1 Formica fusca group- 0 workers
1 Tetramorium immigrans colony-20 workers
1 Dorymyrmex insanus- 1 queen, used to have workers
1 large P. occidentalis colony- around 50 workers, plenty of brood

P. occidentalis should like all of those seeds, especially chia. If you do order all of those, you can feed your colony for years to come.

I highly suggest getting dandelion seeds too. Because dandelion seeds seem to be a very widely accepted seed. My Pogonomyrmex never took any chia seeds in.

Ask a seller that you bought them from, which seeds he was feeding them and which they liked, and didn't liked.
