are you going to sell any of your queens?

No, all of these queens have been sadly really disappointing. I plan on just keeping them all and see which get to workers.

So putting the M. mimicus queen with pupae on the heating pad was the right option. She got her 1st worker today and are doing great! I find it interesting how they both have a different color scheme.

Mildy concerned if the queen has drank radioactive honey water, as she is cranking out brood like crazy.
I gave them 7 fruit flies and they are eating them all.

How?? What are you doing that I'm not. I got no brood.

Things I am doing (pretty much all of it):

Partial heat on one side
Changing liquid foods every now and then
Watering every 3-4 days (not too much water)
Feeding them lots of protein.

That’s basically all I am doing.

Edit: I’m sure you will get more brood, just wait a bit, eventually the queen will spam brood production.

as far as I know, if you keep doing this and heating them, the queen will hyperspam brood in the spring.

Ants I am keeping:

none for now, planning on being more active this year

Alright so, I made a further inquiry of about 15-ish minutes looking around the nest for a replete. As Cephalotus asked if there were any, I said no, but I wondered where a lot of the honey water I am giving them is going. I finally found who is taking it all, I will throw in some other photos because why not.

I also, like many, need to speak of the state of the forum. I am keeping positive, and I trust it will return to normal. I bid farewell to all those leaving the forum or taking a break from it, and wish for a speedy return. I am glad the moderators and dspdrew have stopped this circus of toxicity from continuing to try and poison our fair forum. That’s all I wanted to say.

I think our colony's are going to go back and fourth, at the start your colony was crushing mine in development, now I am doing a tad better, I think you're colony will get in the lead soon.

When was mine every ahead of yours? As far as I can remember you've always had more workers.

Remember when you got that 1st big miniplete, its gaster size was large, but the miniplete in my colony had a gaster barely larger than the normal size. You seemed to have a lot more activity in making repletes in your colony.

Yes. While TechAnt had the lead with workers, M_Ant had the lead with replete development.
