3: stigmatomma pallipes (possibly)

4. Parasitic lasius (chthonolasius) sp (head reminds me of aphidicola)

Ponera?

1. Location (on a map) of collection: Fitchburg MA

2. Date of collection: September 3, 2020
3. Habitat of collection: Grassy river side
4. Length (from head to gaster): ~4mm
5. Color, hue, pattern and texture: Black brown legs
6. Distinguishing characteristics: Long slender booty
7. Distinguishing behavior: Can't climb glass
8. Nest description: N/A

9. Nuptial flight time and date: N/A

DRONE

1. Location (on a map) of collection: Fitchburg MA
2. Date of collection: September 3, 2020
3. Habitat of collection: Grassy river side
4. Length (from head to gaster): ~3.5mm
5. Color, hue, pattern and texture: Black
6. Distinguishing characteristics: Tiny head
7. Distinguishing behavior: Can't climb glass
8. Nest description: N/A

9. Nuptial flight time and date: N/A

6. Distinguishing characteristics: Long slender booty

Looks like ponera pennsylvanica, and lasius.


Ants I have: Tapinoma sessile(2 queen colony). RED MORPH Camponotus neacticus(now has pupae!), Tetramorium immigrans (x3), Aphaenogaster sp, Temnothorax sp, Brachymyrmex sp.   possibly infertile   :(,  Ponera pennsylvanica, and Pheidole morrisi!  :yahoo: 

 

Other insects: Polistes sp. Queen

                    

Ants I need: Pheidole sp., Trachymyrmex sp., Crematogaster cerasi , Dorymyrmex sp. Most wanted: Pheidole morrisii

Looks like ponera pennsylvanica, and lasius.

 

I don't think that Queen 3 is the same as Queens 1 and 2. There is a visible size and color difference.

Great find on the stigmatomma pallipes! They're pretty hard to get started, but it'd be a pain to release her.

Sooooooooooo lucky to catch 3 species in 1 day it took me 1 month to catch Pogonomyrmex ocidentallis :facepalm:

It’s worth it. My P. occidentalis queen has a pupae, and the head is absolutely huge. It’s also fun watching them pile their seeds up

Ants I have:

1 Formica fusca group- 0 workers

1 Tetramorium immigrans colony-20 workers

1 Dorymyrmex insanus- 1 queen, used to have workers

 

1 large P. occidentalis colony- around 50 workers, plenty of brood
