1. Location (on a map) of collection: Arvada
2. Date of collection: Aug. 28
3. Habitat of collection: Under an underpass
4. Length (from head to gaster):  4 mm
5. Color, hue, pattern and texture:  She is an alate, and is small and brown/black.  Her gaster is segmented with brown/black as well.
6. Distinguishing characteristics: Very large wings for her size,  her legs are a different color than her body, more of a light brown, orangish look.
7. Distinguishing behavior:  N/A
8. Nest description: : Your average founding chamber

9. Nuptial flight time and date: N/A

Not a queen.  :( It might be a male though.


Ants I have: Tapinoma sessile(2 queen colony). RED MORPH Camponotus neacticus(now has pupae!), Tetramorium immigrans (x3), Aphaenogaster sp, Temnothorax sp, Brachymyrmex sp.   possibly infertile   :(,  Ponera pennsylvanica, and Pheidole morrisi!  :yahoo: 

 

Other insects: Polistes sp. Queen

                    

Ants I need: Pheidole sp., Trachymyrmex sp., Crematogaster cerasi , Dorymyrmex sp. Most wanted: Pheidole morrisii

Honestly not surprised here either.  More holding out hope that it might be a queen lol.  I haven't found one in forever and after three hours of searching, I was going to take what I got. :)
