I am in search of a smallish acrylic container with an airtight lid that I can put ant's in.  I am wanting to experiment with some different types of DIY formicaria, and need a good small container.  Something around 12" by 6" by 6", that being maximum.  I have looked everywhere, (amazon, container store, etc.) and can't find anything.  Please help.

You might want to see what Lorex Plastics has available. I have purchased several custom made acrylic enclosures from them. You can see some of them in my Instagram. They offer a selection of premade ready to ship enclosures and offer them through eBay. You could also send them exact dimensions and the features you would like and they can custom make you exactly what you need.

Those would be great sources if he was looking to get raw materials to build his own enclosure. However, I think he was looking for suggestions on where to get a ready made acrylic type enclosure.

The websites I provided already offer enclosure like settings. I am not sure what you are referring to that makes you think it isn't considered DIY formicaria FSTP... ???
