How often do you guys feed your ants?  I generally just feed a couple days after they exhaust a food source I put in there.  I don't know if that is the best way to do it though, and wanted to get a couple other opinions.  Thanks!

I feed my ants like a Russian grandma, everyday as much as they can eat.

Ants I have: Tapinoma sessile(2 queen colony). RED MORPH Camponotus neacticus(now has pupae!), Tetramorium immigrans (x3), Aphaenogaster sp, Temnothorax sp, Brachymyrmex sp.   possibly infertile   :(,  Ponera pennsylvanica, and Pheidole morrisi!  :yahoo: 

 

Other insects: Polistes sp. Queen

                    

Ants I need: Pheidole sp., Trachymyrmex sp., Crematogaster cerasi , Dorymyrmex sp. Most wanted: Pheidole morrisii

Depends on colony size for me.

 

Small colonies: Every 3 days

Medium: 2-3 days

Large/Mature: 1 day

(x1) Campontous semitstaceus ~20 workers, 1 Queen
(x1) Camponotus vicinus ~10 workers, 1 Queen (all black variety)
(x1) Tetramorium immigrans ~100 workers, 1 Queen
(x1) Myrmercocystus mexicanus -1 Queen
(x2) Mymercocystus mimcus -1 Queen
(x1) Mymercocystus testaceus ~45 workers, 1 Queen

Ants I have:

1 Formica fusca group- 0 workers

1 Tetramorium immigrans colony-20 workers

1 Dorymyrmex insanus- 1 queen, used to have workers

 

1 large P. occidentalis colony- around 50 workers, plenty of brood

You should have them IDed here. You may be able to figure out their species, or PM some Virginia antkeepers about them.

I don't have a decent quality picture of them right now. But here is 2 old pics from july 1(that's cork pieces on the cotton), and 1 that I recently took with bad quality. that's test tube and handmade outworld setup(I will buy test tube portal soon for them, because it's getting overcrowded in this setup). And I'll try to take better quality picture on monday.

Definitely. The most commonly found Camponotus queens in our area. I was going to guess this is what you had even before you posted pics.
