Hey guys,
I found these online and really like the idea. What are your thoughts on these?? I think they’re called sand ant farm T. I do not plan on buying one, but trying to make something similar.

I think most people’s issue with these is that the tunnels may collapse.

To prevent tunnel collapses, you'd definitely want to use soil with a high-clay content, which shouldn't be hard to find in VA. Make it bio-active by adding springtails and detritivores. The biggest downside would be lower visibility. Not sure how hydration works with these, either.

Something like drew's dirt mix basically. I think you should get a dirt box from drew if you can, drew is also currently out of stock too. Drew's stuff I think is some of the best formicaria for ants.

Techno you should make a separate thread for that, as that is sort of hijacks this threads purpose.
