You should make a Los Angeles back alley theme. Sprinkle some dirt and trash in there. Then all the people keeping Argentine ants would have the perfect formicarium for them.

Woodlands is interesting.

Not quite what I expected, but I live in the boreal forest.

My favorite design is a rich brown sand, with some small black rocks, pine needles and a spruce cone.

Actually an urban theme like Drew described may not be such a terrible idea.  I may look into it.

And as far as Crystal's request, I suppose I could look for some small decor items that wouldn't overpower the thing.  I can't use most leaves, for instance, because they wouldn't scale well with the small space.  What I'm doing almost has a bonsai element to it.  I'll make another woodlands one with some different elements.

A bit off topic, but how are the petri dish founding chambers coming along?

Haven't worked on it this week.  Will get back to it soon.

Also add an outworld with a carpet or wooden flooring with a plastic wrapper for us T. Sessile keepers. Come on, it's unfair if only there is an Argentine ant habitat!

Species I keep:

1 Lasius cf. Neoniger 30 workers

1 Camponotus sp. 15 workers

20 Tetramorium SpE 30 workers

1 T. Sessile 200 workers

Sounds like you want a dollhouse.

No, I want a slice of someone's house. A dollhouse, for example. For Mercutia's sake, put a 6*6 section pilfered from someone's dollhouse for sale. A saw would do. For the sake of T. Sessile keepers, keep that saw ready for the next time you go to someone's house.

If you go with Drews idea of an urban theme, you must include a used condom and a crack pipe, or you won't quite have the aesthetic down.

...you must include a used condom...

I could fill them with this, so the ants go bonkers—I don't have the time or energy to make them perfectly authentic.
