I would first like to point out that i do not have a novomessor queen so there is no need to trash this post

I'm currently trying to make a list of fully and semi claustral genera. Novomessor is quite confusing for me because they are closely related to aphaenogaster, which are fully claustral, but are built quite like a semi claustral queen. Do any of you guys who have had experience with this genus know their founding style?

Novomessor cockerelli are similar to Pogonomyrmex barbatus; they can act fully claustral and raise 2-4 workers just fine on their own, however if something goes wrong during founding or if the keeper wants to supplement them they will readily accept food and raise a larger generation of nanitics. I currently have 24 Novomessor queens, so I'll be experimenting with feeding and not feeding to see the difference. When it comes to the other two Novomessor species I'd assume it's a similar story, but I can't be sure.
