I may be getting some V. pergandei, and I wanted to ask if anyone knew any good nests for them to live in.
Thanks in advance, TechAnt.

A nurbs setup is a good place to start. They would also probably like a dirtbox.
Veromessor pergandei
Veromessor andrei
Crematogaster sp.
Pogonomyrmex cf cali and rugosus
Various Pheidole

I was thinking a Discus or Mini Hearth from Tarheel would be good. Any thoughts on it?A nurbs setup is a good place to start. They would also probably like a dirtbox.

Depends on the size of colony. I'm no expert but mine seem to like my nurbs v2 setup. I hear plenty of good stuff about the mini hearth but the discus looks fine as well. I'd wait for the experts to chime in.

Reviving this because my V. pergandei are getting big. Should I put them in a mini hearth? Also can they climb up the tubing or do they need the side connection version?

Here they are. Not obvious in photo but they are about to greatly increase in size. Lots of pupae.

I think they'll be fine for a bit longer, wait until they start having brood in both tubes
