It seems like these guys are escape artists. Cheeto also had them escape.

It’s been shown time and again that keeping them long term is not feasible.

Keep ordinary ants in extraordinary ways.

Yeah, I'm the only one I've seen besides PurdueEntomology that's been able to contain them for the length of the experiment.

I have had several ideas for automated collection of ant brood that would make the keeping of colonies vastly easier. However, I do not have the resources, the space, nor the ants, to test these ideas.

Hi there! I went on a 6 month or so hiatus, in part due, and in part cause of the death of my colonies.

However, I went back to the Sierras, and restarted my collection, which is now as follows:

Aphaenogaster uinta, Camponotus vicinus, Camponotus modoc, Formica cf. aserva, Formica cf. micropthalma, Formica cf. manni, Formica subpolita, Formica cf. subaenescens, Lasius americanus, Manica invidia, Pogonomyrmex salinus, Pogonomyrmex sp. 1, Solenopsis validiuscula, & Solenopsis sp. 3 (new Sierra variant).
