So I’m trying to convince this dude on discord T. immigrans are not safe to keep in TarHeel Type I and even Type I I I then he brought plastic and AC Nests into the conversation, I told him I assumed they could and he was like “You have no proof.” Even though I said I had assumed. Does anybody know if Tetras can chew through AC Nests / damage them? Photos of it would be nice if it’s true, as I want to know for sure before coming back with a answer.

I actually haven’t seen them chew through hard plastic. Members on here have had Camponotus chew through the outworld plugs, though.

I was actually planning on giving my T. immigrans a type III mini hearth. Did you have a bad experience with these species in the Type III?

Current Colonies

1 x Camponotus nearcticus (Monogynous), 1 x Crematogaster cerasi (Monogynous), 1 x Formica cf. subsericea (Polygynous Two-Queen), 1 x Formica cf. pallidefulva (Monogynous, single worker),

1 x Lasius cf. americanus (Pleometrotic Founding, now Monogynous), 1 x Tetramorium immigrans (Monogynous)

Current Founding Units

1 x Formica cf. subsericea (Monogynous)

I hope not, I got one on order for mine.

The Mini Hearth III seems like a popular setup for Tetra, many I have talked to have it for them.

No, they didn’t chew through type III, but I had a few slip out between the glass somehow.

Ok thanks. I knew something happened with yours. I also have a mini hearth type III so I probably won’t be using it for them. I may have to get some test tubes and do a tubs and tubes setup for mine once the colony grows.
