Found seven of these queens today I believe one or two are mated and am looking for an Id
Caught 6:50
Metallic black
Definitely a queen
Mating flight was today

Thank you I’m thinking it’s a camponotus species that fly’s early but they had their flight late maybe I just wanna know which type they are at this point I’ve already got them in test tubes with a heating mat

Probably Camponotus nearcticus.


Ants I have: Tapinoma sessile(2 queen colony). RED MORPH Camponotus neacticus(now has pupae!), Tetramorium immigrans (x3), Aphaenogaster sp, Temnothorax sp, Brachymyrmex sp.   possibly infertile   :(,  Ponera pennsylvanica, and Pheidole morrisi!  :yahoo: 

 

Other insects: Polistes sp. Queen

                    

Ants I need: Pheidole sp., Trachymyrmex sp., Crematogaster cerasi , Dorymyrmex sp. Most wanted: Pheidole morrisii
