Many people post nice things about their ants, just wanna sure a part of the reality in ants life, which is their death, ants tends to carry the dead, piling them at a corner. Just nice a small major, probably injured during one of a fight with her food, who lost 2 of her legs, lingering around the graveyard, seemingly knowing that her time is almost up.

Normally I buy a pack of mealworm as feeder insects for my CD, it last me a few months before I used all up. Naturally they evolved into pupae and adult beetle.

So I decided to breed them instead so maybe in future I don’t have to buy worms anymore!

I decided to try feeding them pupae and beetle as well, see if they will like it.. surprisingly.... they loved it! More than the mealworm

They mealworm was placed 4hrs ago before I put the beetle in, right after they bring the beetle back into the nest, I put a pupa in..

Just to share an update of their current colony size, I think it’s about 800-1000 considering there’s more in the outworld... taken with a micro lens, not sure if you can spot the alate here! And I have changed the feeder insect too!! Currently I am feeding them dubia roaches!

It's incredible for them to get alates so early and so quickly.

You've done really well with a normally sensitive and difficult species so far. I'm impressed.

Thanks! Probably lucky that I managed to get the humidity and temp right! Now I can’t wait for them to grow even bigger so I can make my own Super big Ytong formi, my idea is something like a 40inch TV size, wall mounted formi haha

Let me show you how they carry those big head pupae! I recorded this when I was changing their formicarium from the side wall plaster to the current Ytong formi.
