Hey guys,
I had a camponotus that thankfully now has her first worker. It’s only one but there’s three more fixing to come. She just eclosed today. When should I give them outworld space? Now or what? I have a small outworld (about 3” long) that I’m going to Lord Willing give them I just don’t know when.

Ants I have: Tapinoma sessile(2 queen colony). RED MORPH Camponotus neacticus(now has pupae!), Tetramorium immigrans (x3), Aphaenogaster sp, Temnothorax sp, Brachymyrmex sp.   possibly infertile   :(,  Ponera pennsylvanica, and Pheidole morrisi!  :yahoo: 

 

Other insects: Polistes sp. Queen

                    

Ants I need: Pheidole sp., Trachymyrmex sp., Crematogaster cerasi , Dorymyrmex sp. Most wanted: Pheidole morrisii

Yeah, give it now or when the three workers eclose. Feeding in a tube is kind of a pain.

Yeah I plan to use a straw to connect mine to a ferrerro rochier tub I have, less stress trying to feed them when they can walk out etc on their own but still feel enclosed... ants be ants XD Any idea what species of camponotus?

My C. Vicinus test tube feeding was the worst, so I suggest you give them an outworld ASAP before they are always crowding the entrance.
My Ants:
(x1) Campontous semitstaceus ~20 workers, 1 Queen
(x1) Camponotus vicinus ~10 workers, 1 Queen (all black variety)
(x1) Tetramorium immigrans ~100 workers, 1 Queen
(x1) Myrmercocystus mexicanus -1 Queen
(x2) Mymercocystus mimcus -1 Queen
(x1) Mymercocystus testaceus ~45 workers, 1 Queen

I recently gave a bunch of different species of camponotus queens (vicinus, martitimus, clarithorax, modoc) and it turned out super well and some had only 1 worker at the time. When I fed them in their test-tube things got quickly messy and with an outworld it's easier to deal with trash and feed them in general. Make sure to use an slip barrier as those Camponotus workers are good climbers and pretty fast so sometimes they'll make a scary break for the outside world.
