Hello guys. I'm just starting. BeenTrying to find queen for a while then I stumble into this beauty.

1. Bogor, West Java.
2. 11 August 2020
3. Plants/Bushes
4. Maybe 1cm+
5. Brownish w rings on the end
6.
7. Distinguishing behavior:
8. Didn't see a nest

9. Unknown

I hope it is a queen. Thanks.

Update :
This morning around 5AM I was sitting on the porch. Then I saw male drones on the table. I thought queens were probably around. Three queens appeared on the table. Cought two of them. To think i spent the last two days walking around the garden looking for them.

Not a queen, unfortunately. Looks to me like a Polyrhachis worker (which is an amazing genus in itself). I'd say this is a great find nonetheless!

I fourth Polyrachis worker. Don’t worry, Indonesia is a very diverse environment, try looking for queens after it rains or a few days after it rains. There are plenty of species to find.

Ants I have: Tapinoma sessile(2 queen colony). RED MORPH Camponotus neacticus(now has pupae!), Tetramorium immigrans (x3), Aphaenogaster sp, Temnothorax sp, Brachymyrmex sp.   possibly infertile   :(,  Ponera pennsylvanica, and Pheidole morrisi!  :yahoo: 

 

Other insects: Polistes sp. Queen

                    

Ants I need: Pheidole sp., Trachymyrmex sp., Crematogaster cerasi , Dorymyrmex sp. Most wanted: Pheidole morrisii

I live in Jakarta. North of here.
I haven't seen this one before, ever. It was quite big. I thought it wasn't an ant.

I think it would've rained again (several times) after a few days, so maybe a few hours afterwards. It is a tropical climate, you know.

Casually ignores the new photos of an alate. Congrats, the winged individual is a potential queen. keep her and see how it goes. As for ID, this would be a species of the subgenus Myrma.
