On Black star canyon trail on the evening of a heatwave solenopsis xyloni had a huge flight and i ended up with 8 queens!! There were so many. I could have had 50 if I brought enough test tubes. Now every single queen has a batch of eggs!

Ants I have: Tapinoma sessile(2 queen colony). RED MORPH Camponotus neacticus(now has pupae!), Tetramorium immigrans (x3), Aphaenogaster sp, Temnothorax sp, Brachymyrmex sp.   possibly infertile   :(,  Ponera pennsylvanica, and Pheidole morrisi!  :yahoo: 

 

Other insects: Polistes sp. Queen

                    

Ants I need: Pheidole sp., Trachymyrmex sp., Crematogaster cerasi , Dorymyrmex sp. Most wanted: Pheidole morrisii

when they get workers.


None of these queens have died so far. All have pretty plump larva.

All of these have over 5 workers and only one has died! Each have a sizeable brood pile with all 3 stages of brood.

I still had 4 of these last time I checked. I'm not sure how the other ones died.
