This whole ordeal was a scramble. I had previous stored all  my ant equipment after losing everything.
Found this little lady floating in the pool and remembered I had a single test tube floating around.
Put her into a quick setup, stuffed the tube in the center of a coiled sleeping bag stored in my garage and forgot about her.

Remembered her, pulled her out and found ~14 nanitics walking around, very active.
Now I just need an ID to figure out the best care for it.

I am used to Lasius Neoniger, Prenolepis Imparis, and Camponotus Pennsylvanicus, but am unfamiliar with this ant.

These images looked way better on my phone lol, if these are too blurry I can attempt taking new ones soon, but I did not want to stress this new start out.

Any info would be appreciated.

You all are quick!

Thank you, pavement ants huh? it is a wonder I never ran into them sooner.

I'm gunna give it a go. There were a bunch alive/dead in the pool, I only kept this one and they seem to be doing well so far *maybe because I wasn't involved?*.

Easiest species to keep. They grow fast and are awful at climbing.
"The ants are a people not strong, yet they prepare their meat in the summer." Prov. 30:25
Keep ordinary ants in extraordinary ways.
