Here, i will talk about a formica of the rufa group(oreas), they have 2 queens and 15 bio workers, i gave them some sub or pod brood so that the queens would have hosts, so exited with them, they are super beautiful IMG_9058.JPG IMG_9061.JPG

Hi there! I went on a 6 month or so hiatus, in part due, and in part cause of the death of my colonies.

However, I went back to the Sierras, and restarted my collection, which is now as follows:

Aphaenogaster uinta, Camponotus vicinus, Camponotus modoc, Formica cf. aserva, Formica cf. micropthalma, Formica cf. manni, Formica subpolita, Formica cf. subaenescens, Lasius americanus, Manica invidia, Pogonomyrmex salinus, Pogonomyrmex sp. 1, Solenopsis validiuscula, & Solenopsis sp. 3 (new Sierra variant).

If they were black and white they could've been called Formica oreos.

Maybe you should make that on the Imagine an ant thread

Between Formica ravioli and Formica oreos, I had no idea how tasty this genus was.
