PM me to order ants, or with any questions.

P. occidentalis can be shipped across state borders, permits required in CA. No shipping to Florida.

Caught after nuptial flight, queens were witnessed mating in Colorado.

These are a great species, as they can survive purely on seeds. They have a pleasant red color ant comically large heads. However, perhaps their biggest attraction is the fact that they can not climb glass nor plastic, making Fluon, talc powder, and baby oil unnecessary. Hibernation is also optional, meaning you can have a break from antkeeping over the winter or watch your ants work year-round. Workers come in a wide variety of sizes, from around 5 mm to almost the size of the queen.

Species verification: You can see the ’tooth’ closest to the mouth curves inward, seen only on occidentalis.

More in stock next season.

Dorymyrmex insanus for sale: 1 single-queen colony with 5 nanitics and a healthy brood pile. Queen was dug out of her founding chamber in July. This species is relatively easy to keep, and similar in size to Tetramorium immigrans. The ‘insanus’ stems from their erratic movement, similar to crazy ants.
Price: $15 plus shipping, Colorado only. Comes with a detailed care guide.
Pyramid Ant (Possible Dorymyrmex insanus)
Note: actual colony not shown.

For a queen and brood, I would feel 30 would be reasonable, although THA sells his at 60. You'd probably want to go cheaper if you wanted any business, however.

If you two are friends you could sell them together. Just a suggestion.

Massive price drop! 1/3 of what THA sells for! All queens come with nanitics unless queens with only brood are requested. All queens ship in a test tube setup with clean substrate.

THA used to sell queens with nanitics for more than 60, so you're selling yours for maybe a fourth of his price.  :D

He’s probably looking to make a profit, which I totally understand, but I’m just trying to break even. This hobby gets expensive real quick

Ikr? Perhaps if this does well you could expand beyond 20 queens next year, and brood boost queens once they got nanitics (and NOT before they even have a chance to raise workers and prove themselves to be fit like THA does) to have a range of colony sizes.

I have far more than 20 queens, but I guarantee live delivery, so I have to have backups. The backups that aren’t used will be sold as colonies for cheap, but without the live guarantee (assuming the vast majority of the queens I’m selling now arrive safely).
