Id request Lasius I think very tiny ants.

Need help with id’ing this queen with workers. Caught in my backyard they are part of a big colony I’m planning to collect more workers and eggs tomorrow. And they are in a 10 mm wide test tube if that helps any so they are about 2,3 or 4 mm long.

Looks like Tapinoma sessile.

Keep ordinary ants in extraordinary ways.

Thank you drew would you think a queen from a different colony would work together with that colony. Also Tapinoma sessile are that small?

They are highly polygynous and some of the smallest ants around.

Oh ok I really didn’t know that too bad they are not lasius I would’ve been suuuuuper happy, because I would trade any of my ants except my subbarbatus colony for lasius.

Ants I have: Tapinoma sessile(2 queen colony). RED MORPH Camponotus neacticus(now has pupae!), Tetramorium immigrans (x3), Aphaenogaster sp, Temnothorax sp, Brachymyrmex sp.   possibly infertile   :(,  Ponera pennsylvanica, and Pheidole morrisi!  :yahoo: 

 

Other insects: Polistes sp. Queen

                    

Ants I need: Pheidole sp., Trachymyrmex sp., Crematogaster cerasi , Dorymyrmex sp. Most wanted: Pheidole morrisii
