I decided to make this journal because I saw very few journals of this species has been made. I had a young colony of Colobopsis ants (I'm not sure what species but I think it's C. leonardi) inside a test tube. The colony currently has 1 queen, 1 worker, 4 pupae, 2 larvae and 3 eggs. What's crazy is that by the time her first worker eclosed, the only brood she had are 4-6ish eggs, this species is extremely hard to raise from a queen and very few had succeed, and this is the first time I raised this species and I did it with very little information. I believe this species is a member of the Colobopsis cylindrica group which all species in this group has minor workers that are so called 'exploding ants'. Here's a pic

Quite sure it Leonardi but idk. I've only seen colobopsis sp in the explodens group so I have no idea. Cool, nontheless

YouTube: https://m.youtube.co...uKsahGliSH7EqOQ (It's pretty dead. Might upload again soon, don't expect my voice to sound the same though.)

Currently kept ant species, favorites have a star in front of their names (NOT in alphabetical order, also may be outdated sometimes): Camponotus irritans inferior, Ooceraea biroi, Pheidole parva, Nylanderia sp., Paraparatrechina tapinomoides, Platythyrea sp., Anochetus sp., Colobopsis sp. (cylindrica group), Crematogaster ferrarii, Polyrhachis (Myrma) cf. pruinosa, Polyrhachis (Cyrtomyrma) laevissima, Tapinoma sp. (formerly Zatapinoma)

Death count: Probably over a hundred individual queens and colonies by now. I cannot recall whatsoever.

I've heard from other antkeepers that Colobopsis queens are pretty fast, so the fact you managed to catch one at all is pretty impressive

Nylanderia parvula - 4 queen polygynous colony with larvae + devoloping workers

Camponotus pennsylvanicus  - 1 queen with 2 cocoons, and a few larvae and eggs

Tetramorium immigrans - 3 colonies, first nanetics!

    Formica pallidifulva - 1 queen, 8-10 eggs

Tetramorium atratulum - 1 queen with roughly 17 host workers

    :D Pheidole pilifera - 1 queen! recently caught! :D

Solenopsis Molesta - 2 queens so far, polygenous set-up

Our second worker eclosed! Sorry for the blurry pic, taking the picture takes timing and the workers are running very fast.

What I'm going to say might make you trigger, I caught her at my grandma's house in Kuala Selangor and found some workers at her sugar cane farm, but that's the only place I've ever seen Colobopsis leonardi. Even crazier (this next part will make you trigger even more) I managed to catch an Odontomachus rixoxsus queen as well but she keeps eating her eggs and refused to lay more :(

This is really weird, my trap jaw ants are rejecting mealworms and now, they are starting to reject mealworms too. How odd.
