Like a water tower in THA nests or a large hole where a water tube could be attached and replaced as needed.

THA makes his water towers with petri dishes, and puts very fine mesh over the top.

Nest mates are open ended so if you have the mesh end in the nest then you don’t have to remove it. I don’t know what you guys are talking about.

Nest mates are open ended so if you have the mesh end in the nest then you don’t have to remove it. I don’t know what you guys are talking about.

 

 

to reliably refill it it must be removed. if you try filling it from the corked/plugged end the the water will just dribble through the mesh.

For my crazy Crematogaster, I use two nestmates. When one gets dry, I quickly pull it out and shove in the full one. I put a ring of mounting putty around the nestmate gap - because Crematogaster.

If Crematogaster keepers need a reason for anything they can just say “because Crematogaster” haha
