How to feed my ants?

Hey.I have a small tetramorium colony with 4 workers and i was asking if i feed them apple with some honey on top,i need to change it daily or they will it it if the apple is rotten?

I actually don’t recommend apple unless it’s organic. I don’t feed commercial fruits of any kind because of the risk of pesticides and because ants don’t really need a variety of sugar. They need variety in the insect protein sources. You can feed your Tetramorium just honey mixed with water and as many different insects as you can manage. They also love soft shelled seeds and boiled meats.

With only four workers, feeding them daily is unnecessary. I feed my P. imparis colony of around 10 workers once a week with a drop of sugar water and a small crushed/boiled insect; this'd probably work fine for your colony.

Keep sugars constantly available, preferrably in a liquid feeder of some kind. A small colony will not need daily protein, maybe every few days. Best thing is to give them an outworld and let them decide how much food they need.
