yha this is what i got too.. says 11.5 inches but its is actually 11.5 feet long... I have just the tip threaded in, just alot of extra cable.
Use the extra to heat other colonies, or you can drape some over other parts of the nest for thermophilic species. Only the last few feet will heat up.
Heeheheheh Now I have a reason to get more colonies

Same with me too! I want novaeboracensis so badly since I'm moving to Michigan, and I have a spot where I found novaeboracensis but I'm not there yet to catch any flights!

My area is loaded with Camponotus novaeboracensis if only I had a permit. Although I missed their flights last year.
