Location:  O'Neill Regional Park, Trabuco Canyon, California.
Habitat:  Oak forest.
Coloration, hue and pattern:  All black with slight brown tint.
Distinguishing characteristics:  Sparse hair.
Behavior:  Found foraging alone after dark.
Length:  12mm.

I'm guessing this might be Camponotus quercicola because of the sparse hair.

C. quercicola are also all over that area, and i haven't seen any other all-black Camponotus around there.
