Tetra queen 1:: Ok, there was a flooding in Tetra queen 1's test tube, so now they only have a few workers.  I am moving them into a new test tube now.  :*(

Solenopsis molesta group(the bigger ones)The two queens now have a nice clump of eggs!  :)

(I'll post pics soon.)

For some reason my Pheidole are not consuming any sugar water. They have eaten a lot of insects though.

How are you offering it? Mine are pretty protein focused now to pump out majors ASAP.

Lasius are the king of hard to id, but able to without genetic testing. I mean, once you know how, and if you have a microscope its not that hard though. All you have to do is count, and look at the shape of the teeth on the mandible, and look at what type of hairs there are on the antennal scape. At least for niger group.

You mean they are the queen of hard to id?

I put a drop in their tube.

Try soaking it in a square of paper towel. The tiny nanitics may be scared to approach open liquids.

OK, my Pheidole drank some sugar water for the first time! I gave it to them by a tiny drop and they drank it.

Tetras: Nothing much has happened on the tetras. They are growing steadily.

Pheidole cf. dentata: These gals now have tons of pupae. their brood pile has at least doubled and new larvae are now present.

Tapinoma sessile: Nothing really cool has happened. They are growing and have around a hundred tiny larvae.
