I have always been fascinated by ants and was just casually browsing the internet when I came across this informative site. I don't have a formicarium or a colony, but always wanted to go full swing into it, not just buy an ant farm every few years type deal just to watch a handful of workers die in a few months (usually dug up from a local nest that I see near by so I don't have to buy any). I hope that one day soon, I can get me a queen using the methods I was reading on this site and have a nest going myself one day.

(x1) Tetramorium immigrans ~100 workers, 1 Queen

Ants I have: Tapinoma sessile(2 queen colony). RED MORPH Camponotus neacticus(now has pupae!), Tetramorium immigrans (x3), Aphaenogaster sp, Temnothorax sp, ~~Brachymyrmex sp.~~ possibly infertile , Ponera pennsylvanica, and Pheidole morrisi!

Other insects: Polistes sp. Queen

Ants I need: Pheidole sp., Trachymyrmex sp., Crematogaster cerasi , Dorymyrmex sp. Most wanted: ~~Pheidole morrisii~~

Welcome to the forum! Folks from your state have been finding queen ants by the bucketful recently, so you should have no trouble finding a starter queen.

That's good to know. I just don't have something set up yet. I was watching a video on how to set up a simple aquarium as a natural habitat that looked interesting and I have a spare aquarium doing nothing at the moment, so was thinking of something like that to start with.
