I got this queen from nurbs a while before, so they're NCC
1 of the workers is a Camponotus maritimus worker, the other I believe should be the semitestaceus nanitic, but it hasn't darkened yet, and it bears a striking resemblance to Camponotus fragilis

That queen is GORGEOUS! (I also really like that gif )
Two more workers closed, and it's crazy how light colored they are. I've seen some other journals and I would've thought they'd be darker than Camponotus semitestaceus. I've included a photo of my Camponotus fragilis for comparison here.
I also have another colony of C. semitestaceus, which currently has 2 workers, 1 sansabeanus worker and 1 semitestaceus worker. The sansabeanus worker is the one on the top left, the semitestaceus is directly below the queen. You can sort of see that the semitestaceus worker is slightly lighter colored than the sansabeanus worker. I'm not sure yet I will keep posting more of this second C. semitestaceus colony, but if you guys want to see them, lmk in comments

It could be because from the first link it appears to be a video rather than an image. I'm not 100% sure on how to embed videos from imgur on here, just images. Maybe you can try to Upload it to Youtube or something and embed that link on here. I know that works

The first and the third are both videos. I didn't publish them right on Imgur in the beginning. Embedding videos is pretty much the same thing as embedding images, but it just looks better to me.
Today wasn't a good day for pics for the mini hearth colony, so I took pictures of a different colony. This one does not have as many pupae as the mini hearth colony, but they have a ton of small brood. Sorry about the video quality, I had to take it through 1 layer of plastic then through the glass as well.
I was able to get videos for both colonies in today! This first one is the mini hearth colony. They now have 8 pupae, and are about to get another worker any day now!
If you check the video from my last post, those semis didn't even have large larvae. Now, they have pupae! They are actually growing way faster than I expected.
I focused in on the queen's gaster, and you can see that she's filled up on the byformica/hummingbird nectar mix that I've put into their feeder. Unfortunately, one of her workers passed away 2 days ago, so they're down to 3, but I know they'll make a comeback!
I forgot to trim out the part where the LED ran out sorry
My C. Semitstaceus I got from dspdrew have never left the tube in a few months...but when I reveal them from the dark they are all still alive.. Their food has been untouched forever. I have no idea how they are still alive, they have not eaten, none have died, but the brood are not developing past their larval stage for some reason. (No brood have been eaten)

Almost sounds like they're in some period of diapause or something. Did you take them off heat during the winter?

Drew said they did not hibernate and that they lived in the desert, so I never put them on heat.

I do think they at least have short periods of diapause once in a while. If they weren't taken off heat then, maybe they're just waiting right now.

I mean, they just sit around in their tube 24/7, except when I open it to light they freak out and send a worker or two outside.
