I caught this reddish brown queen today (June 24th) in Modesto CA. She’s 8mm long from head to gaster and seems quite chill in comparison to other queens I’ve caught. I’ve been seeing her species on the pool deck where I have polo conditioning late at night (around 9pm) for the past week or so. Pretty sure I saw some brachymrmex queens out there too, which is besides the point. Anyways, I have no clue what species this queen is but if I had to guess I’d say Solenopsis sp. Any ideas?
