Pheidole? (Probably not Solenopsis this time?)

1. Location (on a map) of collection: Cave Creek, AZ
2. Date of collection: N/A
3. Habitat of collection: Desert Scrub
4. Length (from head to gaster): Workers: ~2mm, Majors: ~3mm
5. Color, hue, pattern and texture: Orange-red with dark orange-red mandibles 
6. Distinguishing characteristics: Majors have large heads
7. Distinguishing behavior: They where pretty unpredictable and difficult to take pictures of, they also seemed to be alarmed by light
8. Nest description: Didn't find a nest entrance

9. Nuptial flight time and date: N/A

Definitely some kind of Pheidole. There are so many species of them in the desert southwest that it's anyone's guess as to what they are exactly. Maybe someone on here will know.

Yes Pheidole, sadly with as many species there are in Az, getting to species from photos is going to be impossible no matter what anyone says.
