Here's a fun tip I learned from D colony on YouTube

An easy way to clean the garbage from your ants. All you do it take an elevated surface of some sort and line the edges with fluon or some other barrier. Then, place the garbage on the surface. Simply wait a day or so, and the remaining ants on the garbage will fall off, not able to climb back up. You can then take the garbage out without any leftover ants.

This is helpful for large colonies that are hard to clean (:

I don't have any huge colonies at the moment but when I do I will use this tactic.
