Hi there! I went on a 6 month or so hiatus, in part due, and in part cause of the death of my colonies.
However, I went back to the Sierras, and restarted my collection, which is now as follows:
Aphaenogaster uinta, Camponotus vicinus, Camponotus modoc, Formica cf. aserva, Formica cf. micropthalma, Formica cf. manni, Formica subpolita, Formica cf. subaenescens, Lasius americanus, Manica invidia, Pogonomyrmex salinus, Pogonomyrmex sp. 1, Solenopsis validiuscula, & Solenopsis sp. 3 (new Sierra variant).

Yeah, it’s uncooked, I just took it from the can, rinsed it in the sink to get the salt and other flavors it had put on it. Then I dried it on a paper towel for like 10 seconds. Then I brought it over to the outworld, of course, I cleaned everything in the sink because I am a little germophobic. Then it took like five minutes for them to notice it and start eating.
I put the rest of the chicken in a plastic bag, and put it in the fridge.

Ants do appreciate some salt occasionally. It’s essential for all animals’ nervous systems.
